Aussie-ism of the Day (AOTD): Havawanda
Day 1's AOTD is: Havawanda. Don't you know what that means?? Gosh! It's so obvious. Here, let me put it to you in a sentence:
Just take the tram downtown and havawanda.
Still don't get it? Well ok. Let me break it up for you. Havawanda in proper english is "Have a wander"...as in, "take a look around" or "check it out". Yeah, I felt like a dumbass when the super nice and sweet Aussie girl who is helping with my accommodations used the phrase and I was like "What's havawanda?"
Runner up for Day 1 AOTD is: breckie. As in: Do you like to eat a hot breckie in the morning? (Breckie = breakfast)

My bad. Breckie is properly spelt "brekky" as corrected by the George Foreman brekky grill I saw in KMart today.
