AOTD #2: Language barrier

You'd think that because Aussies speak English, we'd all be on the same page, right? Well, as I'm finding out first-hand, that's not necessarily the case. Here are some translations from today's experience:

• 42 Celsius = 107 Fahrenheit (today's temperature!!)
• Tomato sauce means ketchup
• When you ask for lemonade, you get Sprite (that's what happened to me at dinner)
• Meat pie means...really unhealthy lunch. I had 8 mini-meat pies that are traditional Aussie food, esp for an Aussie football match. Prob not the best idea. My New Year's resolution is to eat healthy! At least for the rest of this trip. Maybe just tomorrow actually.
